“Three years before the Olympics. I understand that we have to act now” — Mozalev

Russian figure skater Andrei Mozalev told the “Championship” that he was aiming for Olympic gold.

Andrei Mozalev: My goal is Olympic gold. Three years before the Olympics, I understand that it is not much, there is still a lot to do and we must act now. I should have started yesterday.

Ekaterina Bobrova: So you started yesterday when you won the world junior championship. The day before yesterday I won the World Junior Championships, yesterday I went to the first Olympics, and tomorrow … We have a strange situation, but there is a tendency that the IOC is not against participation of athletes with Russian and Belarusian passports, but under the auspices of the IOC, unnamed, asexual performance. Will you be selected in this case?

Andrei Mozalev: Certainly. My goal is Olympic gold, I repeat, everything else is secondary.

Mozalev previously came fifth in the St. Petersburg Figure Skating Championship.

The Winter Olympics in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo are scheduled to be held from February 6 to 22, 2026.
