Female coaches Russian team of handball, headed by Lyudmila Bodnieva, determined the composition of the April training camp in Novogorsk, according to the website of the Russian Handball Federation (FHR).
The gathering of the national team will take place from April 4 to 12, 22 handball players will take part.
The composition of the Russian women’s team for the April training camp in Novogorsk:
Goalkeepers: Polina Kaplina, Kira Trusova (both – CSKA), Anastasia Ryabtseva (Astrakhanochka);
Left wingers: Marianna Egorova (Star), Kristina Kozhokar (Rostov-Don), Victoria Shichkina (Astrakhanochka);
Right wingers: Albina Murzalieva (CSKA), Anastasia Starshova (Dynamo Sinara), Olga Fomina (“Lada”);
Linemen: Alena Amelchenko (Lada), Anastasia Illarionova, Victoria Shamanovskaya (both – CSKA);
Right welterweights: Ekaterina Zelenkova (Rostov-Don), Antonina Skorobogatchenko (CSKA Moscow), Olga Shcherbak (Lada);
Left welterweights: Elena Mikhailichenko (CSKA), Daria Statsenko (Rostov-Don), Anastasia Shavman (Kuban), Polina Sharkova (Astrakhanochka);
Leaders: Ekaterina Dolmatova (Dynamo-Sinara), Valeria Kirdyasheva (Lada), Karina Sabirova (CSKA);
Coaching staff: Lyudmila Bodnieva (head coach), Mikhail Izmailov, Alexander Yanushevich (exit coach).
– As we have no matches scheduled for this training camp, we have not brought in any foreign players. As always, there are some casualties due to injury and illness, but otherwise we have put together the optimal squad, taking into account the performance of handball players for their clubs. We plan to update old game packs, work on tactics and pay special attention to defense. As agreed with the team, we are preparing seriously, remember that the situation can change at any time, and we are preparing as responsibly as possible. We do not lose hope for a return to regular international matches, – the FGR website quotes Bodnieva.
