Ukrainian and Salvadorian lost to Andreescu and Venus
Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk and Salvadoran Marcelo Arevalo were defeated in the 1/4 finals of the mixed doubles Roland Garros 2023.
In the quarterfinals, Kostyuk and Arevalo, seeded under the seventh number, lost Bianca Andreescu from Canada and Michael Venus from New Zealand.
In the first set, Marta and Marcelo led 5:4, but gave away two games to their opponents on their serve – 5:7. The second game was left for the Ukrainian and the Salvadorian – 6:4. The fate of the meeting was decided on a super tie-break – 10:6 in favor of Andreescu and Venus.
Recall that in singles Marta lost to Arina Sobolenko in the first round. In the doubles competition, Kostyuk and Elena-Gabriela Ruse reached the third round.
