A group of workers have accused companies involved in preparing for the Paris Olympics of violating working conditions

A group of 10 workers have filed a complaint against four construction companies involved in preparations for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, according to France Info.

The builders said they worked on the sites without an employment contract, pay slip, paid vacation or overtime. They also claim the situation is similar to the construction of stadiums during the World Cup in Qatar, when tournament organizers admitted labor violations at three companies.

Everyone knew that I had no papers. One day I had pain in my knee. I asked my boss if I could take a day or two off. He said, “If you’re not here on Monday, pick up your stuff.” I had to keep working despite the pain. France is no better than Qatar,” said one of the workers.

According to the publication, hearings are scheduled for early October.

The Olympic Games in the French capital will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
