The USA Track and Field Federation has suffered millions of dollars in losses due to the 2022 World Cup.

The USA Track and Field Federation (USATF) reported revenues of $37.94 million for 2022 and expenses of $44.66 million, according to the released statement.

In absolute terms, revenues were the highest in USATF history, surpassing $35.0 million from 2016. But due to high expenses, the organization revealed losses amounting of $6.72 million for 2022. In 2021, it lost $458,000.

USATF included a three-sentence note at the top of the tax form stating that the loss is related to the United States hosting the World Athletics Championships in Eugene in July 2022.

USATF CEO Max Siegel made $1.3 million in one year. In 2021, he earned 3.8 million, for which he faced heavy criticism.
