Earlier, the American boxer lost the WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF titles
Former undisputed world champion in the light middleweight division Jermell Charlo (35-2-1, 19 KO) stripped of famous magazine’s belt The Ring. The American boxer lost his title due to inactivity.
In May 2022, Charlo defeated Argentine Brian Castano by technical knockout and became the undisputed world champion in the light middleweight division.
Since then, Jermell has fought only once, moving up to super middleweight in the fall of 2023 and losing by unanimous decision to Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
With the first strike of the bell against Canelo, Charlo lost his WBO title. In November, he vacated his IBF title, refusing to defend it against mandatory challenger Bahram Murtazaliev of Russia. In 2024, the American was also stripped of his WBC and WBA titles.
