Felix 'xQc' Lengyel has been permanently banned from League of Legends, just months after switching to the game following his suspension from Overwatch.
The controversial Canadian streamer found out live on stream, telling his viewers he had "really bad news" before showing them the ban message on screen.
The message read that a player-triggered review found his in-game comms extremely inflammatory and offensive, resulting in his account being permanently suspended. It said he was among 0.006% of League players negative enough to be permanently banned, and that other players judged his comms to be far below the standard of the League community.
Overwatch League suspensions
xQc, a former professional Overwatch player for the Dallas Fuel, was suspended twice during the inaugural season of the Overwatch League, first for using homophobic language and later for racist language.
He missed multiple games during the first part of the season and was handed fines as well as extra punishment from his own team. Dallas Fuel eventually terminated his contract, after which xQc quit playing professionally and moved to streaming full time, building on his existing fanbase.
More recently, xQc was suspended from Overwatch again for repeated abusive chat.
Still eligible for World Cup
xQc has previously apologised for his actions on Twitter, but he has so far made no mention of the League of Legends ban on social media.
Despite the string of suspensions and bans, xQc remains eligible to play in the Overwatch World Cup for Canada. The team's management has suggested he will represent the country at the Los Angeles qualifier.
