On Thursday, October 20, the qualifiers for The International Dota 2 tournament began.
The Russian team and the current champion of The International Team Spirit ended their performance by losing in the 1st round of the lower bracket against the Philippine team Boom Esports (0:1). The meeting was played in a best-of-1 format, the Dragons took 13th to 16th place and won over $250,000.
Boom Esports’ second-round rival will be PSG.LGD, who lost 0:2 to Team Secret in the top-tier quarter-finals. Additionally, Thunder Awaken, who were stronger than Evil Geniuses (2:0), advanced to the winners’ semi-finals.
Beastcoast, Gaimin Gladiators and Team Entity also advanced to the second round of losers.
The main stage of TI11 will end on October 30, with a prize pool of approximately $17 million.
