Teddy bears replaced four RNG players in the arena during The International 2022 match

The Chinese team Royal Never Give Up is represented by a single player in the match against Team Entity in the 1st round of The International 2022 playoffs, which takes place in Singapore.

Four players Daniel “Ghost” Chan, Lu “Somnus 丶M” Yao, Yang “Chalice” Shenyi and Hu “Kaka” Liangzhi have been banned from the arena due to coronavirus and have been forced to play the match for a hotel. Only Jian Wei “xNova” Yap tested negative, and he plays in the arena surrounded by four teddy bears.

RNG players contracted the coronavirus during the TI11 group stage. After the illness, they couldn’t win a single map and found themselves in the bottom bracket of the tournament.

The winner of the Royal Never Give Up – Team Entity match will face Garmin Gladiators in the second round. The losing team will leave the tournament after winning over $250,000.

The main stage of TI11 will end on October 30, with a prize pool of approximately $17 million. Earlier, the current champions Team Spirit, who were the last TI11 entrants representing Russia, left the tournament.
