Physical sport is recognized as a sport in Russia

On January 31, 2023, the Russian Ministry of Sports signed an order to include Fijital-Sport in the All-Russian Sports Register, and the order was sent to the Russian Ministry of Justice for state registration.

The order will enter into force 10 days after it is registered with the Russian Ministry of Justice and published on the official Internet portal legal information .

Figital-sport was included in the first section of the register of sports that are not national, applied to the army and applied to the service, as well as sports whose development is carried out at the All-Russian level. Sports programming is included in the second section of the registry. Algorithmic programming, product programming, unmanned aerial system programming, robotics programming, information security system programming are recognized as sports disciplines of sports programming. Also, the decree of the Ministry of Sports informs of the change of name of the sport “Thai boxing” in “Muay Thai”.

In June 2022, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation signed a memorandum of cooperation to develop and popularize the new “sports programming” among the population. The signing took place during the XXV International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg 2022. At the same time, the creation of the Sports Programming Federation of Russia was announced.

In December, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on holding the Future Games international multi-sport tournament in Kazan in 2024. The sports fair will bring together no less than 16 disciplines from the physical and digital world. The competition will last 9 days and will bring together more than 2,000 participants from more than 100 countries.
