We understand that skills in the field of information security must be constantly honed, developed and improved. It is particularly important to do this within the framework of international cooperation, and the Cyber Championship, which will be held at SPIEF this year, is a useful practice,” said Alexander Shoitov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia.

“The importance of a reliable and effective cyber defense system is constantly growing, along with the spread of digitalization in all areas of the economy and life. Oseevsky, chairman of Rostelecom. “Technical capabilities and experience gained in recent years by experts at the test site allow us to organize information security competitions not only on a Russian scale, but also on an international scale, increasing the stability of the critical information infrastructures of all interested countries.”

Representatives from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Vietnam took part. Participants in the cyber drill practiced how to counter highly professional hacker groups.
“Over the past year, we have gained valuable experience in combating real-world cyberattacks. Almost every organization in key industries with critical infrastructure and above has experienced a real cyber showdown. Hackers’ tactics and methods are improving: they are becoming faster, more secretive. The cost of a single attack can be estimated between $30 and $70,000, depending on the level of training and the technological base of the cybercriminals. More than 750 largest organizations of key industries are protected by Rostelecom-Solar, and the work of protecting their perimeters allowed us to study in detail the scenarios and mechanisms of intruders. Our specialists were able to implement the patterns of these attacks in the digital environment of the National Cyber Testing Ground, which today, without exaggeration, is ahead of existing analogues and is valuable not only for partners Russians, but also for foreign colleagues. . We invite participants to test themselves on “live” cases and we are sure that such training events will not only improve skills in the fight against pirate groups, but also constantly maintain a dialogue between information security specialists globally,” said Igor. Lyapunov, Rostelecom Senior Vice President for Information Security, CEO of Rostelecom-Solar.
