Two Russian clubs continue to fight for the top prize of the “Figital Games”

The last matches of the group stage took place at the “Figital Games” in Kazan. According to their results, the participants in the playoffs were determined.

Of the three Russian teams participating in the tournament, two went to the semi-finals – Volgograd Rotor and Moscow Phoenix. Kazan Tatar Squad, alas, suffered two defeats.

— We are happy to have reached the quarter-finals. I think the game against the Iranian team will not be easy, and a lot will depend on the digital scene, and we will deal with them on the pitch,” said Phoenix player Alexander Sheshukov.

— In the digital part of this tournament, I liked the Brazilians, plus I would take a closer look at Phoenix. There are two tops who play there. If we talk about the physical part, I liked the Iranians, the Argentines, the Brazilians, the Serbs are interesting. I would like to play in the semi-finals with one of the foreigners, and in the final we are waiting for the Brazilians or Phoenix,” said Rotor striker Artur Grigoryan.

On Thursday, May 18, the “Figital Games” will host two digital football quarter-final matches, with the semi-finals taking place in the evening.

The semi-finals will start at 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., where the teams will play with the absolute winners of the group stage. The winner of the first pair will fight with Rotor of Volgograd. The winner of the second pair is with the Brazilian team R10.

On Friday May 19, the last day of the “Figital Games” will be determined, where the finalists of the Figital Football tournament will be determined. Recall that the teams are fighting for a prize of 2,900,000 rubles.

The “Figital Games” are a series of competitions in the phygital disciplines that precede the “Games of the Future”, which brings together competitions in 16 hybrid disciplines. Each of the disciplines combines the concept of “phygital” (physical + digital), combining classic sports and e-sports or VR-/AR technology and testing both the athletes’ physical fitness and their digital dexterity. The Future Games tournament will be held in Kazan from February 23 to March 2, 2024.
