On August 28, at the IESF congress, following a vote, the delegates overturned the decision of the congress of April 18, 2022, according to which Russian athletes could not participate in international competitions under their own flag . It should be noted that 32 delegates voted in favor of repealing the decision, 13 of them voted against and 25 delegates abstained.
“Obviously, this is excellent news. In our view, sport must unite and any form of discrimination against athletes based on nationality or any other reason is unacceptable. Therefore, we are happy that we were able to obtain the cancellation of the previous decision, and our team will finally play under its own flag, ”the press service of the organization quotes the words of the President of the Federation of Computer Sports of Russia . The statement added that the congress rejected the proposal of the Ukrainian Computer Sports Federation to suspend the membership of the FCS of Russia in the IESF.
