President of Russia Vladimir Poutine announced that an annual eSports tournament will be held in the Far Eastern Federal District.
The plenary meeting of the WEF, in which Vladimir Putin participates, began on Tuesday in Vladivostok.
— We agreed that an annual eSports tournament would be held in the Far Eastern Federal District. This trend has already gained great popularity around the world. In addition, our cyber athletes occupy leading positions. Organizing high-level competitions in Russia will, I am sure, help promote this sport in our country and abroad. The first tournament will take place at the end of the year. I ask our IT companies and companies with public participation to pay attention to this sport and support it,” Putin said at the meeting.
