“In physical or electronic sports there are no IOC, FIFA, FIS and other “Russia-exclusive” international competitions” – Stepanova

In physical or electronic sports, there is no International Olympic Committee (IOC), International Football Federation (FIFA), International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) and other “excluded from Russia” of international competitions, so dozens of foreigners will come to the “Games of the Future” among Kazan athletes, wrote the Olympic cross-country skiing champion Veronica Stepanova in his column on the site.

The international tournament “Games of the Future” will be held for the first time in Kazan from February 21 to March 3, 2024.

— On the day off from training, I flew to the opening of the “Russia” exhibition at the VDNKh. I flew to work – my native Kamchatka invited me to become an ambassador of the region, as they say now.

I also had time to see a little of the other exhibitions. For example, “Sport for all”. Where it became clear to me that the main sporting event of 2024 in our country would be the “Games of the Future” in Kazan in February. And rightly so: the “Games of the Future” are phygital. In physical or electronic sports, there are no IOC, FIFA, FIS and other “Russia excluded” from international competitions. From what I understand, no one has banned Russians from going there or intends to do so. This means that dozens of foreign athletes will come to Kazan. Maybe not from the USA or Sweden, but the competition will nevertheless be truly international,” Stepanova wrote.

The Future Games competitions will take place in new disciplines using modern technologies, the digital environment and physical activity. The format of the competition involves the use of the latest developments in the field of e-sports, robotics, augmented and virtual reality, information technologies and artificial intelligence.
