Outsiders will play in regional qualifiers for TI 2022
Company valve published the final ranking DPC season 2021/22. According to the updated list, the last direct ticket to The International 2022 got a command Fnaticahead of Outsiders for one point.
Previously calculated Liquipedia and the Dota 2 community, a direct invite to TI 2022 should have been received by Outsiders, who were ahead of Fnatic by 0.05 points (1020.05 vs. 1020). However, in the Valve rating, the Russian team has 1019 points, and the representative of Southeast Asia has 1020 points left.
The difference in the calculations is due to the fact that Valve rounds up points after each player replacement penalty is imposed during the season. Note that points were deducted from the Outsiders twice due to lineup changes.
Outsiders will play in the regional qualifier at The International 2022. The winner of the qualifier will advance to the main tournament of the year, and the teams that take 2nd-3rd places will play in the last chance qualifier.
In addition to Fnatic, 11 more teams received direct tickets to The International 2022: PSG.LGD (China), OG (Western Europe), beastcoast (South America), Thunder Awaken (South America), Team Spirit (Eastern Europe), BOOM Esports ( Southeast Asia), Team Aster (China), TSM (North America), Tundra Esports (Western Europe), Gaimin Gladiators (Western Europe), Evil Geniuses (North America).
Six more teams will advance to The International 2022 following the results of closed regional qualifiers. Two more trips will be played in the last chance qualification.
At TI 2022, 20 teams will play, which will be divided into two groups. At the end of the group stage, the two worst teams from each group will leave the tournament, and the rest will play in the playoffs.
The International 2022 will take place in Singapore on October 15-30. Tournament matches will take place in two arenas: Indoor Stadium and Suntec Arena.
The current winner of The International is Team Spirit, who beat PSG.LGD (3:2) in the grand final. Last year the tournament was held in Bucharest.
